The geographic context

The olive groves found along the depression of the Ebro river are mostly covered by deposits from the Oligocene and Miocene, consisting mainly of gypsum and margo gypsum materials, and, to a lesser degree, sands, luthite, gypsum-slime formations, margo formations and white margo limestones, although this proportion can be significantly increased.

The geologic nature of the area and its climate constitute the perfect conditions for a first quality olive oil.

The climate of this area alternates hot, dry summers with long, cold winters. It is famous for the presence of a Northern wind that makes the climate tougher and plagues less common, which is translated in a reduction of the use of chemical treatments and results in an unaltered olive oil, pure olive juice.

The earth in this area, known as Albares, is mostly of a dry calcareous type, and it gives the olive oil produced in this area its name.

Its hardness, and the singular climate and earth where Albares is produced, make it a unique olive oil with a characteristic personality. An olive oil with the best of each variety.

The company was created to bring the best olive oils of the area together and create an olive oil in keeping with the tradition and quality certified by its origin.
